During our first week of camp we will take a look at the components of our watershed habitat. This will be an overview of plants, animals, water, and soil. We will make tree cookie necklaces, plant dye, and build our own terrariums.

This week we will focus on the native plants on our campus as well as the plants in the garden. Our study will include parts of a leaf and parts of a plant. We will take home a potted plant to care for over the summer, make leaf print art, and try our hand at weaving with vines and leaves!

This week we will focus on the animals living on our campus. We will explore animal tracks, covering, and how they make their homes. We will make an artistic beetle, butterfly, or moth creation, and after we learn about beneficial insects in the garden, we will make a bug hotel to take home.

This week we will tie together what we have learned in the previous weeks to focus on food webs, energy transfer, and interdependence within the habitat. We will make garden art to represent this interrelationship. 

This week we will study the soil. We will explore what it is, what lives in it, and its importance to all living things. In the garden we will study compost. And along with other art projects, we will make a pinch pot to take home.

This week we will study water. We will look at tiny organisms under the microscope, watch tadpoles develop, and observe our aquarium filled with the larvae and developing animals from a pond. We will create colorful amoebas, frogs, and turtles.

This week we will focus on the cycles in nature. We will look at the seasons, the water cycle, the carbon cycle, and photosynthesis. We will work on mixed media wind socks, bead art depicting the water cycle, and more.

This week we are going to take our knowledge from the summer and focus on the science of problem solving in the field of environmental science. We will run experiments, explore ways to help the environment, and dabble in coding and robotics. Our art projects will focus arts and crafts using recycled items.
