Rachael has worked in Montessori environments for seven years. She assisted in toddler and lower elementary classrooms for five years before going to Houston Montessori Center for her lower elementary training. She then worked as lead teacher for two years. She loves dancing, soap making, pottery, cooking, paddle boarding, and traveling with her husband Ben and their kids, Jake and Emma. Rachael fell in love with Montessori’s “strike the imagination”, storytelling aspect of teaching and how it pulled the children in through wonder. It tied into her lifetime love of dance and performance and is one of her favorite parts of the Montessori classroom. Her favorite Montessori quote is “The immense influence that education can exert through children, has the environment for its instrument, for the child absorbs his environment, takes everything from it, and incarnates it in himself.”
